Precision is fundamental for the development of the "heart" of an engine

Engine blocks produced by the Auto Linea company go through rigorous quality controls.

For producing the part that's the "heart" of a vehicle's engine, precision is fundamental. According to Paraná company Auto Linea's sales manager Walter Lopes, there are many characteristics that define the block's quality, which are required by the market, such as: geometrical and shape precision, surface quality, flatness, perpendicularity and others. "We use top generation equipments and machinery in order to ensure the quality control in the brand's entire engine blocks production line", he reveals.

"In analogy to the human body, the block is the heart. It's the most valued part of an engine, which receives pistons and other components and it's where oil and water go through", he explains. According to Lopes, if the block lacks quality, it can jeopardize many other components of the engine. Therefore, Auto Linea maintains a modern structure which guarantees the total control of all the production processes. 

The manager says that the inspection of the blocks is done in tridimensional measuring devices which ensure the precision of the parts. In many steps of the machining process, the high-tech equipment is able to inspect features such as geometrical tolerances, which guarantees the fulfilment of all the procedures indicated in the production. "It's a care that we have in prevention, so that the customer has a guarantee to receive the best product", he declares.

The concern towards quality is reflected on the entire production process. The Auto Linea's engine blocks are made of cast iron. "In the casting process, chrome and molybdenum are used, which provide the product with more resistance to high temperatures and also more durability", Lopes informs. According to the manager, metallographic laboratories assure the quality of the alloy used in the casting. 

"Auto Linea has reached the 'state of the art' level, which is the total perfection in what they propose to do", evaluates the company's commercial representative in São Paulo, Luiz Carlos Mótono. According to him, the production excellence and the improvements to the alloy secured the Auto Linea's blocks a great acceptance in the market. 

The Auto Linea's Engine Blocks line has two models: with six and four cylinders. They are applied to Mercedes-Benz trucks with 352, 366, 314 and 364 engines. The products leave the plant destined to distributors located in Brazil and over 30 more countries.

Auto Linea is the commercialization brand of a wide range of automotive products manufactured by the Hübner Indústria Mecânica (Hübner Mechanical Industry) for the replacement market. This is carried out by their sales representatives and an extense distributors network, in Brazil and abroad.
